Killed in Action/Died of Wounds, 4th November 1918

W Pook, Private, 43047,
6th Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment, 50th Brigade, 17th Division

William Alfred Pook was born in quarter three 1897 to Thomas Pook 1861-1941 and Clara Williams 1862-1915. He was a Private, No 43047 in the 6th Doresetshire Regiment and died of his wounds on 4 November 1918 in the Mormal Forest north west of Locquignol.

Research suggests he had two brothers Edward James Pook 1895-1915 and Frederick James Pook 1896-1919. Private Edward James, M/2 022239 in the M.T.A.S.C. died on 27 January 1915 at Tidworth Military Hospital, Wiltshire. Frederick James died in South Molton, Devon in June 1919. It is not clear if Frederick fought in WW1.

The father Thomas Pook lost his wife Clara and all three sons within 5 years.  My heart goes out to him.

W Pook is buried in Caudry British Cemetery
Plot IV, grave H.2.
